Surface Design Show highlights the future of sustainable materials in the built environment, with a focus on technology and human experience. The theme encourages designers to develop sophisticated, adaptable and user-centric solutions, fostering a deeper connection to ethical living.
Following on last year's exploration Change shouldn't mean waste, as trends, needs and designs continue to evolve– we show a better way, beyond single-use, and invite creatives to Re-imagine waste at Surface Design Show.
Giving rubbish a rethink– we find new value in worn out and unwanted surfaces that retain inherent possibility with Material Rescue. Harnessing our collective influence to inspire purpose-led circular design, we showcase the transformation of waste materials into high-end, long lasting surfaces that extend the lifecycle beyond a singular project.
Every piece tells a story and change brings new potential for better environmental impact and positive social change.
An exclusive VIP experience for the architecture and design community, the Designers Hub features stunning furniture for a stylish and inspiring atmosphere. Enjoy complimentary refreshments and a serene space for meetings, or a more relaxed viewing of the Awards presentation. Collaborating with brands like Spark and Bell, DEKA, and Britvic, Surface Matter brings bespoke partitions created out of Pierreplume and Richlite. Second generation Durat from Yatofu’s Layers exhibition for Habitare forms the bar, alongside a special edition Aqua Libra Flavour Tap Nano.
Aqua Libra are on a mission to transform hydration through innovative and sustainable solutions. Delivering great tasting refreshing drinks with zero single use packaging, for a premium experience in workplaces and events space. The sleek design includes a digital platform to track environmental impacts and uses a Durat base, launching at Surface Design Show.
Flavour Tap eliminates an average of 800 pieces of single-use packaging every week.
Sally Angharad's curated spotlight celebrates the intersection between future thinking design and creativity. Surfaces and finishes explore technological developments while retaining the human touch, bringing life into our environments. Proudly presented alongside a host of innovation, includes:
New colours and textures join Shaped, a decorative surface for interiors crafted from recycled paper panels. Scala's detailed shell pattern, mini versions of originals Scoop and Scala join new colourways in Richlite Redstone, Blue Canyon, Grays Harbour and Maple Valley.
To implement the circular economy across all operations and reduce Durat's environmental impact, Durat Plus combines recycled PET resin with recycled solid surface for 55% recycled content. Pairing a consistent base colour with speckles of recycled surfaces, gives it a distinctive, subtle appearance.
The world of surfaces yearns for innovation and mindful creativity. Plasticiet present Karlite, crafted from carefully sourced discarded headlights, the new material represents a blend of sustainability and quality. By utilising the highest quality mineral pigments, it offers a silky translucency with colours that evoke a natural essence, all meticulously crafted and hand-finished. This product is more than just recycled, it's designed to endure.
Surface Matter gives Durat benches new purpose, after having welcomed thousands to Alcova for Milan Design Week, then forming retail displays for Minna Minna pop up shop and now seating for the Main Stage programme and Surface Design Awards. Let your imagination run free with Durat - recyclable, silky surfaces in a variety of colours, with a distinctive terrazzo look that can be renewed, repurposed, or recycled again.
