Southborough Kitchen
Designed-in character
Working in collaboration with Dericote Studio, Brixton based bespoke kitchen makers West & Reid have created a clean, contemporary and sophisticated design executed with meticulous skill. The sleek, uncluttered kitchen uses a stripped back colour palette, pairing crown cut oak and inky blue Richlite. The subtle warmth of the Blue Canyon Stratum Birch Ply fronts compliment the oak drawers, and over time the solid paper composite worktop will develop a patina, bringing character to the minimalist design.
Richlite is a lot more durable than might be assumed, being made of paper, working wlell for heavy duty applications like kitchen doors. Robust and long-lasting it's harder than wood with a non porous surface maintained with simply warm soapy water, or a bit of polish periodically ideal for a busy family home where an earthy worn in look is desired.
